Heavy Equipment Service Manager

We sell and service a wide-variety of equipment including: Large and Small Construction Tractors, Agricultural Equipment, Forklifts, Racking Systems, Telescopic Handlers, Prime and Stand-by-Power Generation, UPS Systems and On-Highway Truck Engines. In addition, we rent Caterpillar and Other Preferred Manufactured Equipment for contractors.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 



  • Coordinates daily shop operations while maintaining safe working conditions.

  • Prioritize, assign and monitor work of technicians for accuracy, efficiency and skill level.

  • Communicate status of work in progress with customers, direct reports as well as upper management.

  • Control operational costs including non-chargeable time, policy, rework and other shop expenses.

  • Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.

  • Coordinate technical support as required to expedite repairs.

  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency for shop and field technicians.

  • Participate in annual budgeting and oversee the execution of performance based on those standards.

  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve established company goals.

  • Insure quality control pre/post inspections are consistently performed.

  • Ensure Customer Satisfaction by consistently communicating with customers on status of repairs, accuracy when quoting and efficiency of repairs performed.

  • Monitor work in progress to meet quoted labor and parts estimates while invoicing work orders in a timely manner.

  • Communicate technical issues as needed with manufacturers.

  • Perform employee performance reviews.

  • Schedule technician training while balancing work flow.

  • Other duties may be assigned.


Experience Required

  • 5 year(s): Job related experience


Education Required

  • High School or better


Licenses & Certifications Required

  • Class C Driver License


Skills Required

  • Write Simple Instructions

  • Read Simple Instructions

  • Basic Computer Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract multiply and divide

  • Abiity to communicate effectively

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
